Florida Ranks As Worst State In Country: Thrillist

Florida ranks as the worst state in the nation in a list of states compiled by the website Thrillist Travel. Michigan ranks as the best state in the country.

Here is what the website says about its ranking of the Sunshine State:

"When putting together a list such as this, there can be some temptation to defy popular expectations, and go against the grain. However, Florida’s awfulness resume is so staggeringly impressive that it couldn’t go any other way. You were born for this. Embrace it," the website says.

In their description, the website links to the Twitter account of Florida Man, who compiles some of the quirky and downright weird happenings in the state.

The website says its rankings are "based on everything. More specifically, their contributions to America, so think inventions, food/drink, somewhat productive famous people, unique physical beauty, etc.”

One of the reasons Michigan ranked first "more coastline than any state other than Alaska," according to the website. Following Michigan in the rankings for the top 5 states were: Maine, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Louisiana.
