The city of Tampa needs to work on the water main that runs underneath the bridge. So, starting today, June 24, the northbound, outside lane of the bridge will be closed from time to time, according to the city.
Drivers will be detoured on to Plant Avenue during the closures and the bridge wil remain open at all times.
The City of Tampa is hoping to schedule closures when traffic will be light in an effort to minimize the inconvenience to residents. There is no timetable for when the work is scheduled to be completed.
Motorist will use Plant Avenue, as a detour route during these closures. The
City of Tampa will attempt to minimize the duration of the closures and impact
to the traffic. The bridge will remain open at all times.
