TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay's premier philanthropic community event, the Tampa Pig Jig, will welcome three-time Grammy Award-winner and one of country music's most talented and decorated male solo artists, Brad Paisley, to Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park in downtown Tampa on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Additionally, attendees will see performances by multi-platinum singer/songwriter Riley Green, Indie folk artists The Head And The Heart, folk duo Shovels & Rope and Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Amanda Shires.

The Tampa Pig Jig is an annual fundraiser hosted on downtown Tampa's waterfront, featuring live music, plenty of food vendors, a corporate barbecue competition, a silent auction, drinks and games.

The event was founded by a group of Tampa men to support their friend who was fighting focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a rare and one of the most debilitating forms of kidney disease for which there is no cure.

Since its inception, the Tampa Pig Jig has helped NephCure Kidney International increase funding for critical research into FSGS, growing from just three clinical trials in 2011 to nearly 60 now underway. As it enters its 12th year, the nonprofit event has raised more than $5 million and inspired events in San Jose, California (Silicon Valley Pig Jig), Colorado Springs, Colorado (Rocky Mountain Pig Jig), and Staten Island, New York (1st Annual Staten Island Pig Jig).

The goal is to raise money to support research, improve treatments and find a cure for the FSGS and nephrotic kidney syndrome.

Paisley has earned his place in country music history as one of the genre's most talented and decorated male solo artists. For more than 20 years, his songwriting and showmanship have won him numerous awards, including three Grammys, two American Music Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 Country Music Association Awards. He's also been named the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year honor and is the most successful CMA Award co-host in history, hosting for 11 years alongside Carrie Underwood.

A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, Paisley has written 21 of his 25 No. 1 hits and, in 2008, became the first artist to achieve 10 consecutive Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 singles.

Green's music combines traditional country, bluegrass and Southern gospel music. The Jacksonville, Alabama, native learned the spirit of songwriting and performing at a young age while spending time with his grandfather, Bufford Green, who ran the Golden Saw Music Hall. His debut album, Different 'Round Here, features the Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, "There Was This Girl," and his "Behind the Bar" collection is Gold-certified with songs, "If It Wasn't For Trucks."

Green was the 2020 ACM Awards New Male Artist of the Year and his collaboration with Thomas Rhett on "Half Of Me" earned Green his second No. 1 song.

Acclaimed Seattle Indie band, The Head and the Heart, is fresh off the release of their fifth studio album, "Every Shade of Blue," and a headlining North American Tour. Known for their introspective lyrics, the band's 2011 self-titled debut album was certified Gold and included instant classics such as "Rivers and Roads," "Lost in My Mind," and "Down in the Valley."

The 2013 album, "Let's Be Still" and 2016's "Signs of Light" settled into the top 10 of The Billboard 200 album chart, with "Signs of Light" securing the No. 1 position on rock album charts, scoring the band's first No. 1 on Alternative radio with "All We Ever Knew."

Shovels & Rope's Shovels & Rope's visceral, bold and, at times, deeply personal album "Manticore" takes aim at idol worship, homelessness, social justice, the experience of fierce parental love and marital strife. The album, one of six full-lenghth albums, has earned artists Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst a dedicated and loyal fanbase.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Shires started playing fiddle with the legendary Texas Playboys at the age of 15 and has nuanced her original songwriting into a series of critically acclaimed solo albums. Shires is a founder of the supergroup, The Highwomen, whose members include Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby and Brandi Carlile, and is also a member of the Grammy Award-winning Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit.
