1. Nazeraeh Montrond, 22, received the keys to a new home in Wesley Chapel from Building Homes for Heroes. Her father, Army Sgt. Alberto Montrond, was killed in February 2006 when he was stationed in Afghanistan with the 7th Special Forces Group. Nazeraeh was left to care for her brothers after her mother passed as well. 2. The Tampa Police Department (TPD) is investigating a shooting that left a 5-month-old infant injured on Saturday. The incident happened Saturday, September 3 after 1 p.m. The child was immediately transported by EMS to Tampa General Hospital. Paula Marie Concepcion Santos, 25, was arrested and charged with child neglect and great bodily harm. (City Of Tampa)
3. Most grocery stores in Tampa Bay will be open today for regular hours during Labor Day including Publix, Whole Foods Market, Winn-Dixie, and The Fresh Market. Most CVS and Walgreens will be open as well, although pharmacies will be closed at Walgreens and limited at CVS. (WFLA)
4. Central Florida-based Save the Manatee Club (SMC) is encouraging individuals to help manatees at home and abroad as they celebrate Labor Day weekend and International Manatee Day on September 7, including taking caution on the waterways. The organization was founded by Jimmy Buffett and former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Graham. (WUSF)
5. The New York Yankees took down the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 on Sunday, denying a sweep to the Rays. The Rays won two out of three games and gained one game to trim the Yankees ranking to five in their division to five. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times)

- Florida Blue says more than 85,000 people in the Tampa Bay area will be receiving letters this weekend that Baycare may choose to leave its network on October 1. If the two companies do not reach an agreement, all BayCare hospitals, doctors and other facilities will be considered out-of-network for anyone insured by Florida Blue starting on October 1. (WTSP)
- The Women's Advocacy Movement of Pinellas (WAMP) and nearly 60 other local activists gathered Saturday in downtown St. Pete to march for abortion rights and reproductive justice for the "Repro-Rights Rally." Candidates running for office joined the rally. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
