Harlem Globetrotters Announce Tampa Stop
The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their brand of basketball to the Amalie Arena early next year.
TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who want to witness the on-court antics of the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will get their shot early next year. The team has announced a stop at Tampa’s Amalie Arena.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. Feb. 22, 2017, Tampa show are set to go on sale Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. The roster for the 2017 tour includes such fan favorites as Ant Atkinson, Big Easy Lofton, Hi-Lite Bruton and Thunder Law, among others.
“Every game will showcase incredible ball handling wizardry, rim-rattling dunks, trick shots, hilarious comedy and unequaled fan interaction,” Amalie Arena officials announced in a media release. The Globetrotters also plan to debut “basketball’s first 40point line.” That line will be located 30 feet from the basket, which is 6 feet, 3 inches beyond the top of the NBA’s current 3-point line.

After each game, members of the team plan to sign autographs and take photos with fans.
Tickets start at $20 and go up to $115 for courtside seating. They’ll be available starting at 10 a.m. Nov. 1 at the McDonald’s Ticket Office at Amalie Arena and Ticketmaster outlets, including Ticketmaster.com. Phone orders may be placed by calling 800-745-3000.
