1. The annual Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park opened on Friday at 600 N Ashley Drive in downtown Tampa. The celebration is sponsored by the Tampa Bay Lightning and will run daily through Jan. 4. (Tampa Patch)

2. A youth hockey team, The Bulls Hockey Club, has rallied to the aid of a player's little sister fighting cancer. The group has raised more than $10,000 for the non-profit organization Beat Childhood Cancer with support from the Tampa Bay Lightning. (ABC Action News)
3. The Tampa Museum of Art announced last week that philanthropist and art collector Jorge M. Pérez presented a monumental sculpture by Colombian artist Fernando Botero and a $1 million cash gift to the museum in downtown Tampa. The donation follows an influx of recent support of the museum, including a recent $5 million donation from the Vinik family. (Tampa Patch)
4. Chismis & Co. is hosting an all-you-can-eat Filipino Kamayan gathering on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Scott Andrew Fischer Design Studio in St. Pete. 5. Amid swirling controversy at Tampa's HART transit agency, including from former employees, HART CEO Adelee Le Grand has vowed to move the group forward. The Hillsborough County transit agency suffered from layoffs on the day after residents voted down a transportation sales tax increase that has faced opposition for years from conservative activists.
