1. Haunted Carnival is back at Armature Works this Halloween weekend, Oct. 27 to Oct. 30, from Pied Piper Productions. The concert weekend will include the likes of celebrity DJ and Benihana heir Steve Aoki as well as Pauly D, Blondish and Shaquille O'Neal. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
2. Tampa police said a woman was killed early Wednesday morning when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection of West Kennedy and North Westshore boulevards. Police said the accident happened around 4:45 a.m. (Tampa Patch)
3. Florida homeowners, including those in Tampa, are in for a rude awakening as Citizens Property Insurance has announced it will hike insurance rates on Nov. 1 for new policyholders. Citizens customers will see a 6.4 percent rate hike next week for new customers. Citizens has become the only options for several homeowners as insurance companies flee the state of Florida. (ABC Action News)
4. New Port Richey Mayor Rob Marlowe is in hot water with residents in a petition circulating online that accuses the mayor of being "known to verbally attack small businesses and citizens" and calls for his removal from office. Marlowe upset residents and businesses with opposition to the annual Cotee River Bike Fest, including social media posts deriding the event. (Florida Politics)
5. Cru Hospitality Group will host FĂŞte du Vin, which is a week of food and beverage events across Tampa, in support of Feeding Tampa Bay for the second year in a row. Planned events include the Bouzy Champagne Dinner, California Dreamin' Wine Dinner, Palma Ceia Pinot Camp, and Charity Cocktail Dinner. (Tampa Patch)

- TECO Line Streetcar is celebrating 20 years today, Oct. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the downtown Tampa Streetcar station located at 340 S. Franklin St. The system began in the 1890s but was abandoned until 20 years ago. (WTSP)
