1. Hillsborough County voters elected three state senators, eight state representatives and four county commissioners on Tuesday during the Nov. 8 general election. Polls closed at 7 p.m. local time in the races. (Tampa Patch)

4. City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said on Tuesday that Tampa is prepared for Tropical Storm Nicole. "We've done the usual. We've drained our storm water drains. We've cleaned everything out. We have prepared for any potential flooding," said Castor. (WFLA)
5. Pasco County Schools leaders said Tuesday that all schools and offices will be closed Thursday ahead of the anticipated impacts of Tropical Storm Nicole. Leaders said they consulted with the Pasco County Emergency Operations Center prior to making the decision. (WTSP)
