Hillsborough County Schools 2017-18 Calendar

TAMPA, FL — While most kids might agree that it’s way too early to even think about next school year, parents know better. Those first bells will ring soon enough and that means it’s time to start getting ready.

Parents who want to get a jump start on planning their schedules for the academic year ahead will find Patch has them covered. Here are the important dates for kids enrolled in Hillsborough County Schools for the 2017-18 academic year:

• First day of school – Aug. 10
• Labor Day holiday – Sept. 4
• End of first grading period – Oct. 13
• Non-student day – Oct. 16
• Veteran’s Day, non-student day – Nov. 10
• Fall break – Nov. 20-24
• Students return to school – Nov. 27
• End of second grading period – Dec. 22
• Winter break – Dec. 25 through Jan. 5, 2018
• Non-student day – Jan. 8
• Students return to school – Jan. 9
• Martin Luther King Jr. holiday – Jan. 15
• Florida State Fair Day, non-student day for West Hillsborough schools – Feb. 9
• Strawberry Festival Day, non-student day for Area 6 schools – March 5
• End of third grading period – March 9
• Spring break – March 12-16
• Students return to school – March 19
• Good Friday, nonstudent day – March 30
• Last day of school for kids – May 25
