Hillsborough Fire Rescue Gets Trash Fire Under Control

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews responded to a large trash fire with hundreds of tires on Raleigh Street in Tampa.

TAMPA, FL - Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews responded to a large trash fire with hundreds of tires Thursday evening at Alex Metal Recycling in the 4400 block of Raleigh St. near the Port of Tampa. Fire Rescue got the call of a reported trash fire about 6 p.m. Firefighters got the fire under control after about three hours and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be an accidental ignition from a cutting torch being used to cut recyclable metal. A large plume of black smoke could be seen in the area.
