- Tampa's Wine Exchange is being forced to leave Hyde Park Village in South Tampa after their landlord refused to renew their lease. Wine Exchange general manager Elisa McGuire told the Times the space will be replaced with retail. The lease will expire March 31. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times)
- Police are seeking information on the death of a mother found lying next to an SUV with a sleeping toddler on Monday. The victim was found at the 10700 block of Pictorial Park Drive in the Easton Park in New Tampa. The child was unharmed. (Tampa Patch)
- The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $39.7 million in grants to the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County for pedestrian safety. Hillsborough County has the highest traffic fatality rate per capita among large counties in the nation, according to the DOT. Some of the money will be used for crosswalks, street light upgrades, high visibility crosswalks, sign enhancement, and more. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
- Tampa Bay Bucs Quarterback and previous Super Bowl champion Tom Brady said Wednesday he is retiring "for good" from football, according to ESPN. The announcement was made on social media and came one year after Brady first made and then took back an announcement to retire. (ESPN)
- A historic Black cemetery in Tampa has been fallen into the hands of a private owner despite an attempt by City of Tampa to keep the property at auction. Memorial Park Cemetery has been acquired by 2715 West Sligh LLC, outraging locals. The land was allowed to go to auction by the city with hopes of acquiring the 100-year-old cemetery. (Fox 13 Tampa)
