Interstate 75 Reopened After Fatal 4-Car Crash

Authorities said the crash happened Saturday near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County has reopened Saturday evening following a lengthy closure due to a fatal four-car crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Police said the crash happened around 11:25 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. At least one person died in the crash, police said.

The response and investigation closed all northbound lanes of I-75 at mile marker 264. Traffic was being diverted at Interstate 4, but the detours were removed in the early evening.

The crash remains under investigation.
