1. Family members are asking the public for help finding a Tampa man last seen around midnight on April 27. John Larson was last seen in the Ybor City area. His sister said his truck was found near East 11th Avenue and North 15th Street in Ybor, but he was not found. Family members are offering a $5,000 reward for information on his whereabouts and safe return. (ABC Action News)
2. La Segunda, a historic Cuban bakery in Tampa has recently acquired another one of the most celebrated bakeries in Tampa, Faedo Family Bakery. Faedo is renowned for its bread and pastries and is a long-running family business. La Segunda's bread is also now available in select Publix stores across the region. (That's So Tampa)
3. The Hillsborough Community College Lady Hawks Tennis team became the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 8 State Champions on April 14 and 15 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs. They will move onto the NJCAA Division 1 Women's Tennis Championship on May 7 to May 11 in Tucson, Arizona. (Tampa Patch)
4. The University of South Florida will award more than 6,400 degrees during spring commencement scheduled for May 6 to May 8. The ceremonies include recipients of approximately 4,843 undergraduate, 1,295 master’s and 297 doctoral degrees. (Tampa Bay Newswire)
5. The Halle Grace Foundation is hosting its sixth annual Halle Grace Foundation Toy Drive until Monday, May 30 to celebrate Halle Grace Heilman's 22nd birthday. Halle passed away in July of 2015 after suffering from a rare chromosome deletion, however, following her death, her family established a foundation in her name to keep her memory alive and celebrate her life. To donate, drop toys off at 2928 Chelsea Woods Dr. in Valrico, Melissa Snively’s State Farm office in Lithia, the Florida Hawks FC soccer fields in the FishHawk Sports Complex or Bloomingdale High School.
