Here are the top five stories in Tampa today:
1. A United States Marine veteran suffering with a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has graduated from the University of South Florida. Cliff McAfee says he found support with the USF Office of Veteran Success and now plans to pursue a master's degree and wants to remove the stigma of seeking help. (WFLA)
2. Tampa City Council member Luis Viera is filing for re-election, the first incumbent on the council to file for another term. Viera was first elected after winning a Special Election in late 2016 and this will be his third time running for office. (Florida Politics)
3. Tampa International Airport is in the running for an award from The Cintas America’s Best Restroom Contest. Winners are selected based on "cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements." (That's So Tampa)
4. South Tampa's Cats & Caffeine, the first cat café in the area, has now opened at 4033 Henderson Boulevard. Guests must book a visit online prior to visiting and sign a waiver first. Guests can apply to adopt the pet as well through the café. (WFLA)
5. St. Petersburg's Dr. Bob Wallace says his office is receiving numerous calls with concerns about exposure to monkeypox which can have a 21 day incubation period. Wallace said he is working with a group in South Florida to develop a saliva test for monkeypox. (ABC Action News)
