Macy's Hosting Gift Card Giveaway to Celebrate Remodeling

After unveiling an upgraded department store to shoppers at WestShore Plaza mall recently, officials at Macy's are ready to celebrate the end of the yearlong renovations.

The fun begins at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a 10 a.m. gift card giveaway at the store, 298 Westshore Plaza in Tampa.

Below is a schedule of events from officials at Macy's:

• 9:45 a.m. – Store Remodel Celebration – Join Macy’s Westshore at the mall entrance for a ribbon-cutting ceremony with State Senator Arthenia Joyner, State Senator Jeff Brandes, U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, City Councilman Harry Cohen, Miss Florida 2013 Myrrhanda Jones and other local dignitaries to celebrate the newly remodeled store. The first 100 shoppers to enter the store through the Mall entrance at 10 a.m. will receive a $10 Gift Card.
• Throughout the Day – Passport to Win -  Want to go on an adventure? Pick up a “Passport” and visit each of our exciting deparments where we will have samples, gifts and many more surprises. Have your card stamped at each destination along the way for a chance to win a $500 Macy’s Gift Card at the end of your journey.
• All Day – Shop for a Cause – Join Macy’s for a unique one-day-only shopping event. Customers can purchase a $5 savings pass to receive special discounts and support the March of Dimes.
• 10 a.m. –Meet And Greet with Miss Florida 2013 - Second Floor – Meet newly crowned Miss Florida 2013 Myrrhanda Jones and take a keepsake photo with her. Followed by a complimentary fitness class in the store to “Get Fit” with Miss Florida.
• 11 a.m. – Meet Todd Kalas Tampa Bay Rays Broadcaster  - First Floor– Join us in the Men’s Department and meet Tampa Bay Rays Broadcaster Todd Kalas. Plus, the first 40 customers to make an $85 or more Men’s Department purchase will receive two tickets to the Tampa Bay Rays game against the Texas Rangers on September 19.
• Noon –Fashion Event - Second Floor– Join us for a lunch and learn hosted by the style professionals from Macy’s By Appointment and Kate Campbell, Department Chair of Fashion & Retail Management at the Art Institute of Tampa. Catering provided by Datz Dough + Dazzle.
• 3 p.m. – Meet American Idol Finalist Jessica Sanchez - Third Floor – Meet singer Jessica Sanchez runner up on American Idol Season 11 and receive her autograph. Plus, David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts will be on hand with ticket giveaways for their upcoming Family Series.
