Man Charged With Murder In Fatal Shooting: Tampa Police
A man was charged with murder after an argument escalated to a fatal shooting in Tampa earlier this month, police said.
TAMPA, FL — An arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man earlier this month, Tampa police said in a news release.
Jamarcus Harris, 22, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with murder and felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into Orient Road Jail.
When officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 4700 block of Citrus Circle on Sept. 1, just before 7:30 p.m., they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. He died at the scene from his injuries.

Detectives received tips suggesting that Harris was the shooter and gathered evidence that linked him to the victim’s death before issuing a warrant for his arrest, police said.
Harris and the victim knew each other and preliminary information indicates that they “had a heated argument before the shooting,” investigators said.

"The outstanding efforts of our investigators have ensured this suspect will be held accountable for his choices," Chief Lee Bercaw said. "There are no disagreements, arguments, or differing opinions that should ever result in the loss of a life, and those who choose to use a gun to resolve a dispute will face justice."
