Man Dead After Shooting At Tampa Sports Bar

Police said another man was kicked out of the bar before he returned with a gun.

TAMPA, FL — A man died Saturday after an early-morning shooting at a sports bar in Tampa.

According to Tampa police, officers responded to the Flexx Sports Bar & Ultra Lounge on East 7th Avenue around 2:15 a.m. after an argument broke out between two groups of people outside the business.

Investigators later learned a 22-year-old man was removed from the establishment for disorderly conduct and returned shortly after with a gun. While approaching the business, he argued with another man before shooting him, police said.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

A second man was injured during the altercation and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers were right across the street and were approaching in response to the dispute when the shots were fired, police said. Officers immediately provided aid to the victims and took the shooter into custody.

Authorities did not release the name of the accused shooter.
