Man Drives Wrong Way On Courtney Campbell, Causes 3 Crashes: TPD
A driver accused of causing a multi-car crash late Friday night resulting in serious injuries to two people has been arrested.
TAMPA, FL - A driver accused of causing a multi-car crash late Friday night resulting in serious injuries to two people on the Courtney Campbell Causeway has been arrested, police said. The driver caused three crashes near Ben T. Davis Beach, including two head-on collisions.
Collin John Cole, 26, was traveling west on the Courtney Campbell Causeway when his Ford F-150 struck the rear of an SUV, according to police. Cole did not stop and fled driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes, police said.
The truck hit the front of a Ford Mustang and then continued westbound and crashed head-on into a Honda Pilot. The truck deflected off the Honda and caused a second head-on collision with a Honda Accord.

One victim from the crash is in critical condition; another is in serious condition, police said.
Cole is charged with two counts of DUI with serious bodily injury, DUI with property damage and leaving the scene of a crash with damage, police said.
