Mann Middle School Student Struck, Killed By Car
The boy ran across Orient Road through stopped northbound traffic and into the path of a southbound Hyundai Sonata.

TAMPA, FL - A Mann Middle School student was struck and killed Thursday afternoon when he ran into the path of an oncoming car, deputies said. The boy was identified as 11-year-old Brandon Heard Jr.
About 4:45 p.m., Heard ran across Orient Road through stopped northbound traffic and into the path of a southbound Hyundai Sonata driven by Sabrina Ann Buster, 47, according to deputies. Buster swerved to the right to avoid hitting the boy, but he was struck by the left front of her car. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he died of his injuries.
The boy had been dropped off in the area by a school bus.
