Motorcycle Rider Dies After Striking Monument on Bayshore
The woman was wearing her helmet when she lost control of her motorcycle.

Early Monday morning, a woman from the Bloomingdale area of Valrico lost control of her motorcycle on Bayshore Boulevard and died following the crash.
Kristi Nicole Phifer, 29, was wearing her helmet while riding her 2013 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle south on Bayshore Boulevard around 6:40 a.m. June 3. As she approached Orleans Avenue, she entered the bicycle lane and hit the curb, according to Tampa Police.
Once she hit the curb, she lost control of the motorcycle after going through some standing water. She was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a concrete monument, police said.

Phifer was taken to Tampa General Hospital where she died from her injuries.
