1. The Tampa Bay Rays enjoyed a 12-4 win over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. All nine batters in the Rays lineup had at least one hit during the game. The Rays will face Miami next on Tuesday, August 30. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times, Free: Bally Sports)
2. The Hillsborough County school tax referendum has failed after a recount did not produce enough votes to change the outcome. The proposed property millage tax failed by 590 votes. 3. A group of six people were seen and recorded holding the Nazi flag and anti-abortion banners on Saturday in Pinellas County. One of the banners said "End abortion, Save white babies." Eric Lynn, Democratic candidate for Florida's 13th District for the U.S. House of Representatives, denounced the Nazi demonstration and called on others to condemn the demonstrators. (WFLA)
4. The "Shrek Rave" is coming to Tampa this holiday season on its 30 city tour at The Orpheum. Tickets are going fast. The party will offer guests ogre-themed DJ sets, green glow sticks and more. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
5. Movie tickets will be just $3 in theaters for one day around the U.S.A. and Tampa Bay as part of a newly launched "National Cinema Day."
