Officers Pulled Man By Ankle From Burning FL Home: Watch

Watch police bodycam video footage of officers rescuing a man from a burning home in Tampa by pulling him out by the ankle.

TAMPA, FL — Officers saved a man from a burning home in the 8400 block of N. Highlands Avenue on Saturday, pulling him out by the ankle. (Watch police bodycam video footage from the rescue below.)

Thick, black smoke was pouring from the home, which was engulfed in flames, when the officers responded to the fire and rushed inside “without a second thought,” Tampa police wrote in a social media post.

They found the man just a few feet from the front door and quickly pulled him out to safety. “Thanks to their brave and fast actions, a life was saved,” police said.

Everyone involved was treated for smoke inhalation and recovered.

Tampa Fire Rescue, extinguished the fire, which was determined to be accidental.
