Officials Planning Upgrades to Westshore Area

The Westshore area of Tampa is known for its shopping malls, office space and proximity to the Tampa International Airport and downtown.

But members of the Westshore Alliance - billed as a business organization that wants to improve the quality of life of those who work and live in the area - are planning on making improvements using a master plan. Those improvements range from landscaped medians to bicycle lanes, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The plan is scheduled to be presented to Tampa City Council today, the Times said, although approval isn't required because Westshore Boulevard is a county road.
