Pascal's Bistro, Sandwich Shop Reprimanded By Health Inspectors
Microwave ovens soiled by food, damaged ceiling tiles and a wall soiled with grease are a few of the violations found in local restaurants.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Microwave ovens soiled by food debris, damaged ceiling tiles and a wall soiled with grease are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found last week in Tampa restaurants.
Pascal's Artisan Bistro and Gourmet Coffee, 241 E. Davis Blvd., was cited for five violations on Jan. 25. They included a cutting board that has cut marks and is no longer cleanable, no paper towels or hand-drying device at a hand-wash sink, and the interior of a microwave soiled with encrusted food debris.
Carlos Sandwich Shop, 5713 E. Columbus Drive, was cited for eight violations on Jan. 25, including a damaged ceiling tile; employee jackets stored with bread and a personal item stored with single-use straws; and chicken stored over turkey in a reach-in cooler.

Prime Time Sports Bar, 14404 N. Dale Mabry, was cited for 17 violations on Jan. 25, including encrusted material found on a can opener blade on a prep table; cups not properly air-dried; and a wall soiled with accumulated grease, food debris and/or dust.
Hong Kong, 3401 N. 22th St., was cited for 19 violations on Jan. 24, including a reach-in freezer soiled with an accumulation of food residue; a freezer in poor repair; refrigerator gaskets with a slimy/mold-like buildup; and the interior of a microwave oven soiled with encrusted food debris.

In the last 30 days, 297 Hillsborough County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 136 restaurants aced the first visit. For more details on Hillsborough County restaurant inspections, click here.
The inspectors made note of nine Tampa restaurants that passed inspections during the past week without any violations: Nyl Cafeteria, 5445 W. Cypress St.; Rancho Cafa, 1322 Treasure Key Court; World Of Beer, 9524 W. Linebaugh Ave.; International Fresh Kitchen, 6719 S. Westshore Blvd.; Harpoon Harry's Crabhouse Tampa, 225 S. Franklin St.; Arepa Factory Latin Cafe, 11142 N. 30 St.; Tito's Hot Dogs, 302 W. Emma St.; The Best Thai Food, 5831 Memorial Highway, Suite B; and Outback Steakhouse, 4302 W. Boy Scout Blvd.
Note: Most of the restaurants with violations have corrected those violations and passed subsequent inspections.
