At 11:52 a.m., the Doppler radar indicated a tornado near South Tampa, according to the weather service. If you are in a tornado's path, go to an interior room. Cars and mobile homes are not safe. If you are outside as a tornado approaches, lie flat in a ditch or culvert. A tornado watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. for the entire Tampa Bay area. The area is also under a tropical storm warning as Andrea passes by.
