Here are the top five stories today in Tampa:
1. Tampa Police Department (TPD) is asking for the public's help identifying a person recently caught on camera boldly taking a package from someone's porch. Police said Monday, a man stole an Amazon package from the front porch of a house in Tampa around 4:15 p.m. (Tampa Patch)
2. Grand Prix Tampa, a long-running entertainment venue that featured two go-kart tracks, an arcade, batting cages and two mini-golf courses, has officially closed its doors, according to a Facebook post. The amusement venue is making way for new apartments as Tampa faces an affordable housing crisis. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times)
3. The popular "Brews By The Bay" event at The Florida Aquarium in downtown Tampa is returning this fall as "Rhythm and Brews by the Bay." The event will feature craft beer as well as a full live concert for guests to enjoy. Tickets are now available and start at $125 with a portion of the proceeds benefitting conservation efforts at the aquarium. (WFLA)
4. Allen Temple AME Church in Tampa is urging people to vote in the August 23 primary election. It held an event Sunday highlighting the importance of voting. "We want people to be aware of who's on the ballot, what's on the ballot, and how important it is for them to go out and vote," Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Glenn Dames Jr. said. Voter registration for the primary closed July 25. (WTSP)
5. A Leon County circuit judge ruled Friday that a Republican candidate, Jerry Torres, is ineligible to run for a Tampa Bay-area congressional seat because he failed to properly qualify. Torres' campaign plans to appeal the ruling. (WUSF)

- St. Petersburg tenants are organizing an overnight "emergency sleep-in protest" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, at St. Petersburg City Hall to demand rent control as Tampa Bay continues to deal with an affordable housing crisis. The event will include music, speakers, food and encourages attendees to bring their own sleeping gear. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
- Bradenton photographer, Allan Mestel, traveled throughout Ukraine to document the war between Russia and Ukraine. The photographer says he hopes the photos will remind people that the war is far from over and plans to host a gallery, with proceeds going toward Ukraine organizations. (Fox 13)
- Express Employment Professionals of Brandon and Tampa Northeast are hosting a Back to School Job Fair this Thursday, August 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are hoping to fill 50 positions. (That's So Tampa)
