Road Closures For 2017 Gasparilla Parade Announced
The City of Tampa also announced parking access and restrictions for the pirate festival.

TAMPA, FL – With the 2017 Gasparilla Festival set to take place this weekend, thousands of people will fill the streets of Tampa with to join in the “sacking” of the city.
For people looking to participate in the daylong events on Saturday, Jan. 28 – or to avoid them – the City of Tampa has announced road closures, detours, parking access and restrictions during the weekend’s events. While the invasion and the Parade of Pirates take place in the early afternoon, events will start at 9 a.m. and end around 9 p.m.

South Tampa Neighborhood Parking
The City of Tampa have posted road closure alerts and towing zones in an effort to minimize congestion in neighborhoods that border the parade route. No Parking signs have been installed in the neighborhoods west of Bayshore Boulevard and will be in effect starting Friday, Jan. 27 through Saturday, Jan. 28.
Any vehicle parked on the streets in these neighborhoods will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.
City of Tampa Parking for Gasparilla 2017
- The following City of Tampa parking lots and garages will be available for attendees of the 2017 Gasparilla Parade of Pirates:
- Fort Brooke Garage, 107 block of North Franklin Street: $10 flat rate, open at 7 a.m.
- Tampa Convention Center Garage, Tampa and Brorein streets: $10 flat rate, open at 7 a.m.
- Jackson Street (City Hall) Parking Lot, 420 block of East Jackson Street: Hourly rate, $1.60/hour; daily limit, $9.50; open at 7 a.m.
- Poe Garage, 800 block of North Ashley Drive: $4 per vehicle entry at 9:30 a.m. The garage will be closed from 1 to 6 p.m. due to the parade route. The garage will open at 6:30 p.m. with a $6 flat rate for the show at Straz Center.
- Royal Regional Lot, 1240 block of North Tampa Street: $10 flat rate, open at 7 a.m.
- Twiggs Street Garage, 901 block of East Twiggs Street: Hourly rate, $1.20/hour; daily limit, $7; open at 7 a.m.
- Centro Ybor Garage, Fifth Avenue and 15th Street: Standard hourly rate, $9 daily maximum, open at 6 a.m.
- Palm Avenue Garage, 13th Street and Ninth Avenue: Standard hourly rate, $9 daily maximum, open at 6 a.m.
- All numbered spaces on Kennedy Boulevard and south of Kennedy Boulevard will be enforced until midnight at the standard hourly rate.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is available at the North Fort Brooke Parking Garage, and accessible viewing is two blocks away from the garage on East Whiting Street along the parade route.
