Runaway Teens May Be Driving Stolen Van: Deputies

Hillsborough County deputies are asking for help finding two runaways who are believed to be driving a stolen van.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating two teenage boys deputies say ran away from a group home on Sunday after allegedly swiping a van.

According to the agency, William Glisson, 16, and Johnny Peterson, 14, left the Peak Group Home, 7401 Aripeka Drive, in Tampa around 12:15 a.m. Aug. 6 and have not returned. The boys “stole a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country van, which belongs to the group home,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies say the teens might be heading toward the Cape Coral or Fort Myers area. The van is silver in color and has Florida tag DXCN38 on it.

Glisson is described as being a white male who stands about 5-foot-6. He weighs about 145 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, gray shorts and had an orange backpack.

Peterson is a black male who stands 5-foot-4, the sheriff’s office said. He weighs about 100 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Peterson was last seen wearing a black emoji shirt.

Anyone who has seen the teens or the van is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200.
