Sandbag Sites Open In Hillsborough County
Hillsborough County has opened its sandbag locations to help area residents weather Tropical Storm Emily.

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County residents in flood-prone areas will find help available as Tropical Storm Emily eyes the region. The county has announced the opening of three sandbag locations for Monday, July 31.
Hillsborough County residents can pick up sandbag materials at these locations until 7 p.m. July 31:
- West Service Unit – 9805 Sheldon Road in Tampa
- South Service Unit – 8718 Old Big Bend Road in Gibsonton
- East Service Unit, 4702 Sydney Road in Plant City.
Residents must provide proof of their home address and sign their name to acknowledge receiving up to 25 sandbags.

Tropical Storm Emily formed off the Tampa Bay area’s coastline in the overnight hours. As of Monday morning, the storm was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.
