Attack On Elderly Man: Person Of Interest Sought
Breaking: Tampa Police are looking for a person of interest in a Wednesday attack on an 81-year-old man.
TAMPA, FL — The Wednesday discovery of an 81-year-old man found unconscious in his own yard, suffering from trauma to his upper body, has led to a hunt for the person or people responsible.
According to Tampa Police, Alfred W. Watton was found in his 20th Street North backyard around 6:30 p.m. Police believe the attack on him occurred sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.
A number of items from Watton’s property were reported missing, including the keys to his vehicle and the vehicle itself. Police are now looking for Watson’s 2014 Red Kia Sedona. Watton’s vehicle has Florida tag No. Z4SWC on it, according to the agency.

Late Thursday afternoon, police named a person of interest in the case. According to the agency, Carlos Alberto Cordero, 47, was the last person seen with Watton before the attack.
Cordero is described as standing 6-foot-2. He weighs an estimated 180 pounds.

Police have not released further information about the crime, nor have they released Watson's condition.
