Driver In Single-Car Crash Hit By SUV, Thrown Into River From I-75 Bridge
The driver in a single-car crash was hit by an SUV heading south on I-75 and thrown into the Alafia River, FL Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A 35-year-old Spring Hill man died after being hit and knocked off Interstate 75 into the Alafia River Sunday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
He was driving a Honda Civic south on I-75 when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash near milepost 250 at the Alafia River just after 5:30 a.m.
A 20-year-old Louisville, Kentucky, woman was also involved in a single-vehicle crash while heading south on I-75 in her Mazda 3 sedan, just south of the Spring Hill man.

Both drivers were outside their cars after their respective crashes when a 41-year-old Brandon woman driving a Chevy Traverse south on I-75 hit the Honda and its driver, who was thrown from the bridge into the river, FHP said.
The SUV also hit the Mazda, but not its driver.

The Spring Hill man died at the scene, FHP said.
The SUV’s driver suffered minor injuries, while her passenger, a 34-year-old Brandon woman, was uninjured.
