Store Employee Killed In Robbery Attempt

The Tampa Police Department is investigating a robbery at the 29th Street Store that took a fatal turn Sunday.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a Sunday afternoon robbery that left an employee at the 29th Street Store dead.

According to the agency, officers responded to a robbery-in-progress call around 12:37 p.m. July 16. When they arrived at the 29th Street Store, they found an employee who had been shot and killed. Detectives are actively investigating the incident at the 2802 N. 29th St. store and say leads are being developed.

The victim has been identified as Mohamoud Ibrahim, 60. Further details about the robbery are not yet available.
