FL Substitute Teacher Accused Of Showing Sexual Content To Students

A substitute teacher was arrested after showing sexual content on her phone to two students, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

RIVERVIEW, FL — A substitute teacher was arrested for showing sexual content to two students, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Detectives received a tip on Aug. 25 that Tanaya Jordan, 26, showed explicit content to two students at Pepin Academy in Riverview, the agency said.

Investigators got a search warrant for her cell phone and confirmed the content shown to the victims was on it.

Jordan was arrested Thursday and charged with six counts of selling or distributing obscene material to a minor and two counts of unlawful use of a two-way communications device.

"It is unthinkable that an individual entrusted with shaping young minds would choose to betray that trust in such a horrific way," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "Because of the courage of the victims and the diligence of our detectives, she will be held accountable for her actions."
