Sunshine: Will It Last In The Tampa Bay Area?

Find out what to expect in the weather department in the Tampa Bay area now that Tropical Storm Emily has passed.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents and visitors who enjoyed the break from the heat Tropical Storm Emily delivered on Monday may be just a little sorry to see her go. Forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting the next few days will bring a return of more normalized conditions. That means soaring highs and more-or-less predictable afternoon storms can be expected, but so can somewhat regular doses of sunshine.

Tuesday kicks off the summertime pattern’s return with a high anticipated to climb into the low 90s in much of the region. The day’s heat index value is forecast to reach about 100 degrees though, ensuring rather sticky conditions outdoors. The afternoon and evening hours are expected to bring pretty good chances for scattered storms. The cloud cover, however, isn’t expected to cool things down much in the overnight hours when the low is forecast to fall only into the upper 70s.
