Here are the top stories today in Tampa:
1. Tampa police are seeking help from the community in finding the Seminole Heights robber who shot and killed a dachshund while attempting to rob the pet's owner Friday night on West Powhatan Avenue. A police artist has formed a sketch based on the description on a description of the robber provided by the victim. (Tampa Patch)
2. Savor St. Pete is returning to downtown St. Petersburg this weekend from Nov. 5-6 at North Straub Park. The food festival will feature local chefs, restaurants, breweries, and more. Tickets, which include food, wine, and beer samples, are available now. Volunteers are still being sought for those interested. (ABC Action News)
3. Tampa City Council voted against allowing the public to decide on subpoena power for its Police Citizen Review Board (CRB) on Tuesday. A separate measure to allow the board to have its own independent lawyer advanced. During the meeting, Tampa City Council members claimed they were lobbied by Tampa Police Chief Mary O'Connor and Senior Assistant City Attorney Megan Newcomb to not allow voters to decide. 4. The Tampa Bay Lightning managed a 4-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. The Bolts defenseman Victor Hedman came was scratched from the game due to an undisclosed upper-body injury. (Fox 13 Tampa, ESPN)
5. Police said a 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a shooting that left a man dead in Brandon. The incident happened on Tuesday evening in the area of Westbrook Avenue and Harmony Lane, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. (WFLA)
