Tampa Man, 30, Killed In Pedestrian Crash

A 30-year-old Tampa man was killed in a Friday morning crash on West Waters Avenue.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Friday morning crash that left a 30-year-old Tampa man dead.

According to the agency, Ivan Martinez was trying to cross the intersection of West Waters Avenue and Woodland Corporate Boulevard around 5:48 a.m. May 12. At that time, a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Mario Raul Falcon Ramos, 49, of Tampa was heading west on Waters in the left lane.

Deputies say Ramos was facing a green light when Martinez “walked from the north shoulder south, directly into the path of the vehicle.” Ramos tried to stop, but was unable to do so in time, an email from the sheriff’s office said.
