Tampa Mayor Lambastes Florida Lawmakers 'Controlled' By NRA
Mayor Bob Buckhorn criticized 'worthless members of Congress' and legislators 'controlled' by the National Rifle Association

TAMPA, FL - Mayor Bob Buckhorn criticized "worthless members of Congress" and legislators "controlled" by the National Rifle Association in a tweet Friday in response to the Parkland school shooting that left 17 people dead.
Buckhorn tweeted: "Mad....damn right. Tired of worthless members of Congress who show up on the scene for a cheap political hit, tweet prayers and return to DC & do nothing. Tired of schools spending more time on active shooter drills than SAT prep. Tired a FL Legislature controlled by the NRA."
Buckhorn told News Channel 8 the tweet was prompted by being a dad.
