Here are the top stories today in Tampa:

1. Tampa Police Department (TPD) has arrested two members of the Latin Kings gang linked to a deadly shooting outside a Tampa nightclub, LIT Cigar and Martini Lounge, on Oct. 9, according to police. The suspects were arrested at a hotel in Brownsville, Texas, along with their girlfriends and TPD is working to bring them back to Tampa. (Tampa Patch)

2. Hillsborough County tops the nation in the latest National Assessment of Education Progress (NAPE) for 4th graders. Hillsborough County 4th graders ranked first in reading and math. 26 large urban school districts around the nation were included in the ranking. (ABC Action News)

3. Tampa Bay Burger Week is back from Nov. 3 to Nov. 13 and is sponsored by Creative Loafing and Feeding Tampa Bay. The restaurant week includes local restaurants including Coppertail Brewing Co., Big Storm Brewing Co., Haven, Nebraska Mini Mart, and more. 4. Snowcat Ridge, Florida's first and only alpine snow park, is returning to Dade City for another season. The event includes a 60-foot tall, 400-foot-long snow tubing hill, snow play area, ice skating, private igloo rentals as well as food and drinks for purchase. The park opens Nov. 11. (Fox 13 Tampa)

5. Florida Rep. Jackie Toledo (R-Tampa) has accused her campaign manager, a Republican communications strategist, of sexual harassment. The lawsuit filed claims the manager sent "unwanted, unsolicited, inappropriate, and grossly offensive" text messages to Toledo. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times, Free: Florida Politics)

  • A new documentary about Tampa's La Gaceta newspaper is being released on Friday, Oct. 28, with a special screening at The Cuban Club at 7 p.m. La Gaceta is the country's first tri-lingual newspaper and was founded in 1922. Tickets are now available. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
