Tampa Region Weather Forecast: Sun Shining, Wind Blowing for Holiday Weekend

We might not hit 80 degrees over the weekend, but we'll get close, according to the National Weather Service.

TAMPA, FL — For those folks enjoying an extended weekend, there's more sunny weather on the way, with temperatures slightly higher than normal, according to the National Weather Service.

We'll finish Friday in the low 80s. Winds will pick up a little Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures hitting 78 degrees both days. Overnight lows will stay near 60 degrees.

Next week begins with temperatures again threatening 80 degrees.

Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind around 5 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. North wind 6 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 78. East northeast wind 8 to 11 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
