Tampa Woman, 37, Killed In Motel Shooting

TAMPA, FL — As Tampa Police Department detectives continue to investigate the shooting death of a 37-year-old woman at a Busch Boulevard motel, they have released more details in the case.

According to the agency, officers were called to the Travelers Inn, 2523 E. Busch Blvd., around 8:15 p.m. July 24 in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they found Yasmine L. Tyson of Tampa unconscious, suffering from a gunshot wound. No one else was in the room at the time, an email from the police department said.

Tyson was taken to a local hospital, but police say she died shortly after due to her injuries.

Further information about the shooting is not being released at this time. Police have said the shooting does not appear to be random. Suspect information is not available.
