Tampa Woman Found Dying in Street

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a Thursday afternoon homicide.

According to the agency, police were called to the 2100 block of West Flora Street around 2:30 p.m. There they found an adult woman in the middle of the road, suffering from head injuries.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later, an email from the agency stated.

The woman’s injuries, police said, were not consistent with an accident. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

Police say there are multiple crime scenes involved in the investigation. They are releasing no further information at this time, including the woman’s name.
