Tampa Woman Killed In Domestic Battery Case; Man Charged With Death

A 43-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter and Tampa police said they discovered a woman in her 30s dead in Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — A 43-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter and Tampa police said they discovered a woman in her 30s dead in the 3300 block of East Frierson Avenue.

According to police, at 9:37 a.m. on Oct. 15, a friend of the victim found the woman dead after the vctim's children contacted her asking for help.

During the investigation, officers discovered that 43-year-old Freddie Adams Jr. had been arrested on Oct. 13 on a charge of domestic battery against the victim and was being held in the Falkenburg Road Jail.

The domestic violence occurred around 11:50 p.m. The victim suffered facial injuries, including a laceration. Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the scene but the victim declined to go to the hospital for treatment.

Police said they found Adams down the street from the victim's home just after midnight and took him into custody on one count of battery.

After the victim was found dead two days later, the medical examiner performed an autopsy and concluded that the victim died on Oct. 13 from a blunt impact to the head.

On Thursday, detectives charged Adams with felony manslaughter.
