FLORIDA — A recent report released by U.S. News & World Report ranks online degree programs at 21 universities in Florida among the best in the country.
The 2025 Best Online Programs rankings of nearly 1,800 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at regionally accredited institutions Master’s programs are ranked in several disciplines: MBA, business (non-MBA), engineering, information technology, criminal justice, education and nursing.

Bachelor’s Programs
The University at Buffalo (SUNY) and the University of Florida were ranked No. 1 and No. 2, with a two-way tie for third place among the University of Illinois-Chicago and the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

- The University of Central Florida in Orlando is ranked No. 9
- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University--Worldwide, Daytona Beach, ranked No. 12
- Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, tied at No. 21
- University of North Florida in Jacksonville, tied at No. 21
MBA
Indiana University-Bloomington, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively, topped this list.
- In Florida, the University of Florida in Gainesville ranked No. 4
- University of South Florida (Muma) in Tampa ranked No. 16
- Florida State University in Tallahassee ranked No. 20
Business
Carnegie Mellon University and Texas A&M University-College Station tied for first, and Arizona State University was ranked third.
- Florida International University in Miami ranked No. 12
- Florida State University in Tallahassee tied for No. 12
- University of Florida (Warrington) in Gainesville ranked No. 16
Information Technology
Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Columbia University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham occupied the top three positions, respectively.

Criminal Justice/Criminology
The University of New Haven, the University of California-Irvine, and the University of Massachusetts-Lowell topped the list.

Education
Clemson University and the University of Florida, respectively, placed first and second. San Diego State University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the University of North Texas and the University of Wisconsin-Madison tied for third place.
Engineering
The University of California-Los Angeles was ranked first and Purdue University-Main Campus and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign tied for second.
