These Are The Best School Districts In FL, New Ranking Says

One of the most important considerations of parents in the Tampa metro when choosing a place to live is the quality of the school district.

According to the 2026 Best School Districts in America list recently released by the education ranking service Niche, the best school district in the Tampa metro is Pinellas County Schools..

The school system, with more than 91,000 students, earned an "A-" grade. Not only is Pinellas County Schools the best school district in the Tampa metro, it is also the seventh-best place to teach in Florida and the 15th-best district statewide.

PCS was the sole system to earn an "A-" or better. Hillsborough County Public Schools and Pasco County Schools both earned a "B+."

Miami-Dade County Public Schools was similar to PCS with an "A-" grade in the Miami metro. Broward County Public Schools followed with a "B+" grade.

Seminole County Public Schools is the best in the Orlando area, and St. Johns County School District topped all others in the Jacksonville area.

Niche also released its best public high schools and best private high schools rankings.

The rankings, now in the 11th year, differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities, Niche said.
