Here are the top stories today in Tampa:

1. A state judge has ordered Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer to remove the referendum asking voters to approve a transportation surtax from the Nov. 8 general election ballot. The transportation tax has been caught in litigation for years with continuous pushback since 2018. Previously, county officials were encouraging voters to keep voting on the measure while the tax was under appeal. (Tampa Patch)

2. Tampa has been ranked the third best city in the U.S. for remote work in a report by LawnStarter. The list included the 200 biggest U.S. cities based on 20 remote worker-friendliness factors, including internet quality, cost of living, and access to coworking spaces. (That's So Tampa)

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel wife Gisele BĂĽndchen are now divorced after 13 years of marriage, Tom Brady confirmed in an Instagram post on Friday. The couple share two children, 12-year-old son Benjamin and 9-year-old daughter Vivian. (Tampa Patch)

4. TECO's Manatee Viewing Center will officially open the season on Nov. 1 and close on April 15, 2023. The center will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. On Christmas Eve, it closes at 3 p.m. The best time to see the manatees at the center is during cold weather, which attracts them to the power plant. (Fox 13 Tampa)

5. Democrat Senate Candidate and Rep. Val Demings held a rally in Hillsborough County on Thursday and talked to voters about the need and demand for affordable health care. "Marco Rubio can have all the rallies he wants. It does not make the life of any Floridian better," Demings said at the event. (WFLA)
