TPA Up For Best Large Airport In USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards

TAMPA, FL — Tampa International Airport is once again among North America's top-ranked airports. USA Today announced TPA as a finalist in its annual 10Best Readers Choice Awards program.

A panel of industry experts and editors at the publication chose TPA as a nominee for Best Large Airport, up against major hubs including O' Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago, Miami International Airport (MIA) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York.

It will now be up to the public voters to decide which airport is their favorite, with voting open through Monday, Oct. 2, at noon. Fans of TPA can vote up to once a day until polls close. The top 10 winners will be announced Friday, Oct. 13.

One of Tampa International Airport's many popular local restaurants, Bavaro's Pizza Napoletana & Pastaria is also up for a 10Best Award in the airport grab-and-go food category.

Located at TPA's Airside C, Bavaro's is best known for its wood-fired brick ovens, 100-year-old Neapolitan recipes and top-of-the-line ingredients sourced directly from Italy. The Bavaro family opened their first location in downtown Tampa in 2009 and now have three additional restaurants across the Tampa Bay area, including their location at TPA.

The public is invited to participate in the voting on the USA TODAY 10Best Awards program website.
