In March 2022, Waligora was living in Southern California, where his company had relocated him three years prior. The day after learning his 11-year-old daughter, Chloe, needed to have brain surgery, Waligora’s manager told him his position had been eliminated and he was out of a job.

Waligora had dreamed of being a business owner for a long time, except now, he didn’t hesitate. And, thankfully, Chloe is doing very well.

“I was always afraid to give up the security blanket of having a salary and insurance for my family,” Waligora said. “Once I lost my job, there was really no excuse not to chase my dreams.”

Previously, Waligora spent 22 years in the steel and construction industries, primarily involved in financials and job costing analysis. He also spent some time as a sale representative.

“That definitely comes in handy in the sales aspect of my new career with Floor Coverings International,” Waligora said. “As well as helping customers solve their problems.”

“Homeowners should be thrilled with all the advances that have been made in the flooring industry,” Waligora said. “There are so many waterproof and scratch-resistant surfaces out there that last forever. The options are limitless.”
