TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of University of South Florida football player LaDarrius Jackson in connection with a March sexual battery. The arrest is Jackson's second in less than two weeks.
According to the sheriff’s office, Jackson, 22, now stands accused in a March 27 sexual battery and false imprisonment case. Authorities say Jackson was visiting a woman at her home when the alleged attack occurred.

“The victim was putting items in her bathroom when Jackson entered the bathroom and asked her multiple times to shower with him,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. “The victim repeatedly denied Jackson’s request.”
When the woman tried to leave the bathroom, deputies say Jackson blocked the door and stopped her from doing so.

“The victim remained clothed and moved toward the bathtub and agreed to wash her hair in an attempt to appease Jackson,” the email said. “Jackson then grabbed her against her will and began to forcefully remove her clothing.”
Following the alleged rape, Jackson is accused of forcing the victim to go with him to a nearby pharmacy to “obtain an emergency contraceptive” before she was instructed to drive him to his home at USF’s Holly Drive Apartments.
Jackson turned himself into the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office on May 10. He was booked into the county's jail on sexual battery and false imprisonment charges. Jackson's bond stood at $2,000, according to jail records.
Jackson is also accused in a May 1 sexual battery and false imprisonment case that occurred on the USF campus in the Holly Drive Apartments.
Authorities say they are not aware of any more victims at this time. If there are other victims, authorities are asking them to come forward.
Jackson is a junior defensive end for the Bulls. He is from Birmingham, Alabama.
Further information is not being released at this time.
