Westbound Selmon Exit to Kennedy Boulevard Closed

Those of you coming to and from the Brandon area may have to take a detour. If you are used to getting off the Selmon Expressway at the main downtown exit, this change will affect your plans.

The westbound exit from the Selmon Expressway to Kennedy Bolebard (Exit 8) closed on Sunday, April 14, and will remain closed until mid-to-late May for reconstruction, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Don't fret, because FDOT offered a detour: Use the next exit, Exit 7, which is also called the Downtown-West exit to downtown Tampa. To head to Kennedy Boulevard after exiting, turn right onto Morgan Street and go north to Kennedy Boulevard.
