Yuengling Brewery Goes to the Dogs for Free Shot, Adoption Event
As many as 1,000 free vaccinations will be given out by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay during a Saturday event.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area animal lovers may want to set a course for the Yuengling Brewery on Saturday. That’s when the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and local rescue groups plan to team up for a massive shot clinic and adoption event.
Set to take place Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 11111 N. 30th St. brewery, the event will feature free standard vaccinations for the first 1,000 owned dogs to attend. According to the humane society, those vaccines include distemper, parvovirus and rabies. Licenses will also be available for purchase at a cost of $20 for spayed/neutered dogs and $40 for those that remain intact.
Vaccinations are the first and most important step to preventing the spread of disease, the society explained in an email announcing the event.

In order to take advantage of the shots, dogs must be at least 8 weeks old for the distemper/parvovirus and three months for rabies. Participants must show proof of Hillsborough County residency and must have their dogs on leashes. The society will not vaccinate litters of puppies, only individual dogs. There is a limit of four pets per household.
The human society, Animal Based Charities and Cat Crusaders-sponsored event will also feature eight local rescue groups. Those groups will have adoptable pets on hand.

“Food trucks, vendors, giveaways, and a DJ will lend a festive air as we celebrate healthy pets for all residents of Hillsborough County,” the society’s email said.
